Bourses to remain closed from July 27 for 7 days

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will remain closed for seven days from July 27, 2014 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and weekly holidays, officials said.
The decision was taken at the 775th meeting of the DSE board of directors held Tuesday at the DSE board room presided over by its chairman Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah, said a DSE press release.
The trading and official activities of DSE will remain closed from July 27, 2014 to July 31, 2014 for holidays of 'Eid-ul-Fitr'. Trading and official activities will resume on August 3 after the weekly holidays of August 1 and 2.
The DSE has shortened trading and office hours during the ongoing Ramadan. At present, trading begin at 10:30am and continued till 1:30pm, while office start at 9:30am and continued to 4:30pm.
After the Eid holidays, trading and office hours will revert to the earlier schedule. Trading will begin at 10:30am and continued till 2:30pm and office hours will start at 9:30am and continued till 5:30pm.
Trading and office activities will also remain closed at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) during the holidays.
