Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) have reached a consensus to work jointly in case of taking capital market-related decisions, officials said.
The consensus between the exchanges came Thursday at a bilateral meeting held at office of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
DSE managing director Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) managing director Wali-ul-Maroof Matin represented the meeting on behalf of their respective bourses.
"Sometimes, problem arises when any of the both exchanges take any decision, which is applicable for both the exchanges, independently. That's why we will try to response equally while taking the decisions other than the internal ones," DSE managing director Dr. Bala said.
According to Mr. Bala, the premier bourse and the port city bourse will work jointly to form clearing company and commodity exchange along with making the book building system effective equally for both the exchanges.
The DSE management Thursday also accorded a reception to the newly- appointed managing director of the port city bourse Wali-ul-Maroof Matin.
