BPGMEA for developing waste collection process

The leaders of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) urged to take up steps to develop the waste collection process in the country.
They also said currently waste plastic are being collected in a disorganized manner from the dumping areas of Dhaka municipality and others parts of the country.  And after that the wastes are being recycled.  
But with a joint initiative by the government's concerned department and plastic manufacturers the recycling process can be developed and also the volume of recycling products can be increased.
The association members said this Thursday at a seminar on 'Recycling Plastic Waste'  jointly organized by the BPGMEA and Waste Concern at the 10th International Plastic Fair (IPF) 2015 in the city.
A. H. Md Maqsood Sinha, executive director (ED) of Waste Concern presented key note presentation at the prigramme while Kamal Uddin Ahmed, acting secretary for ministry of environment and forest was the chief guest.
Raisul Alam Mondal, director general of  department of environment, Dr Ijaz Hossain, professor of Chemical Engineering department of BUET, Judy Wang , ED overseas of Chan Chao International Co Ltd, among others were present at the programme.
The consumption of plastic product is gradually increasing in the country for this reason the plastic waste also increasing, said BPGMEA president Jasim Uddin while presenting written speech at the seminar.
