BRAC Bank partnered with Grameen Healthcare Services Limited to provide free eye care and screening to over 42,000 underprivileged people in Bogura and Thakurgaon, according to a statement.
BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Selim RF Hussain and Grameen Healthcare Managing Director Shamsul Haque Ahmed signed the partnership agreement at Grameen Healthcare's head office on Monday.
This effort is part of BRAC Bank's flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme: "BRAC Bank Aporajeyo Ami'. Through this partnership, economically disadvantaged people will receive special lenses, free cataract surgeries including intraocular lens implants, improving their vision.
The goal of this initiative is to help restore people's eye sight and improve their quality of life.
BRAC Bank MD Mr. Hussain emphasised the significance of the initiative.
Grameen Group Chairman Md. Ashraful Hasan said, "By working together, we will not only help restore vision but uplift entire communities by providing access to healthcare services many cannot afford."
