BRAC Bank introduced instant account opening through eKYC for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) and launched two specialised products designed
to benefit the family members of NRBs.
With the specialised products, ProbashiPoribar and TARA ProbashiPoribar Savings Accounts, and the eKYC, the bank recognises the NRBs immense contribution to the Bangladesh economy, reads a statement.
The advanced electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) platform allows expatriate Bangladeshis to open accounts instantly from abroad without the need to visit a branch. This seamless process will encourage wage earners to open accounts and remit.
Once the account is opened, customers can download the Astha App, which provides access to a full suite of banking services, including deposits and fund management, money transfers to any bank accounts and mobile wallets in Bangladesh, bill payments and mobile recharge, secured loan facility, fixed deposit, and DPS.
ProbashiPoribar Savings Account holders will enjoy a host of benefits during the campaign period, including a 3 per cent annual interest rate, monthly interest disbursement, life insurance coverage of up to Tk 500,000 and zero account maintenance charge.
TARA ProbashiPoribar Savings Account customers will be entitled to privileges, including a 3.5 per cent annual interest rate, monthly interest disbursement, life insurance coverage of up to Tk 200,000, health insurance facility of up to Tk 50,000 yearly, and zero account maintenance charge during the campaign period.
