BSEC advisory body meets

The advisory committee of the securities regulator held its second meeting on Wednesday, officials said.
The meeting was held at the office of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
The BSEC advisory committee was formed on March 28, 2011 to evolve appropriate policy options for developing the capital market by protecting investors' interest.
In its first meeting held in July, 2011, the committee stressed the need for reforms of rules and regulations, market monitoring and empowerment of the regulatory body.
The BSEC officials said at Wednesday's meeting the securities regulator highlighted the reforms brought in rules and regulations.
The committee members made further recommendations at the meeting.
BSEC chairman Prof M Khairul Hossain, four commissioners and other members of the advisory committee attended Wednesday's meeting.
