CHATTOGRAM, June 16: A seminar on 'Knowledge sharing on Bangladesh Bank's circulars regarding cash incentive to exporters' was held at the World Trade Centre (WTC) hall room of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) on Thursday.
CCCI and Export Promotion of Bangladesh (EPB) jointly arranged the seminar.
The seminar was chaired by Director of EPB Sharmin Akter. Vice-Chairman of EPB A H M Ahasan was present as the chief guest while Vice President of CCCI Sayed Mohammed Tanvir and 1st Vice president of BGMEA Sayed Nazrul Islam were present as special guests.
CCCI Director Anjan Shekhar Das, Director of BKMEA Gaji Mohammed Shahid Ullah, Director of EPB Abu Mokhles Alamgir Hossain and Vice President of BGMEA Rafiqul Alam addressed the seminar as panel discussants. Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank Mohammed Arafat Ali presented the keynote paper at the seminar. The stakeholders and traders were present at the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, Vice Chairman of EPB A H M Ahasan said, "The government is helping the exporters to increase exports from Bangladesh. The government fixed the target of export at 58 billion US dollars for the current year. If we can fulfill the target, the growth will go up by 30 per cent."
"It is a fact that the export of Ready Made Garment (RMG) is increasing day by day. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the exports from the country are increasing now," he added.
He also said the exporters should avail of the facilities offered by the government to boost the export.
