CEMEX event on earthquake held

CEMEX Cement Bangladesh Ltd. organised a knowledge sharing programme on "Earthquake Hazards in Bangladesh" at RAJUK Bhaban in the capital recently.High officials of RAJUK were present at the event.

A keynote presentation on the topic by Dr. Mehedi Ahmed Ansary,professor from BUET, gave an understanding of earthquakes' effects, need for attention to building code with earthquake resistant structure, essential preparation for facing the situation anddo's &don'ts to minimize the loss of life and damage to properties.

The programme was preceded by a brief presentation of CEMEX Bangladesh by their Commercial Director Engr Md. Enamul Islam, who highlighted the importance on building safety, referring to aMexico based Building Materials Companyhaving biggest operation in USA and more than 50 countries worldwide. The program concluded with an open discussion and question &answer session.
