Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise Ltd, a Chinese company, will invest US$ 28.92 million in BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) to establish a garment manufacturing industry, reports BSS.
The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) signed an agreement with the company at the BEPZA Complex in the city on Monday.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, witnessed the signing ceremony, where Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Md Ashraful Kabir and Managing Director of Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise Ltd Zhuofan Cai signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
The Chinese company plans to produce 50 million pcs of underware, T-shirt, yoga pant, swim pant annually, creating employment opportunities for 3,135 Bangladeshi nationals.
BEPZA Executive Chairman thanked Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise for choosing BEPZA EZ as their investment destination, highlighting BEPZA's commitment to providing a secure and supportive environment for investors.
He welcomed Ding Yu (BD) Enterprise as the new member of BEPZA family.
The signing ceremony was attended by BEPZA officials, including Member (Engineering) Md Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Finance) ANM Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md Khorshid Alam, Executive Director Moshiuddin Bin Mesbah, and Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez, as well as representatives of the enterprise.
