CSE director re-elected

Mohammad Khairul Anam Chowdhury has been re-elected as shareholder director of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) as no other contestant submitted nomination paper to contest the vote scheduled to find a director, officials said.
Mr. Khairul will serve the port city bourse for the period of 2015-16.
As per the articles of association, Khairul, also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of LankaBangla Securities, recently retired from CSE board and re-submitted his nomination paper to contest the vote.
No other contestant submitted nomination paper within deadline set on April 8 last. As a result, election commissioner declared Mr. Khairul as shareholder director for the tenure of 2015-16.
As per demutualisation scheme approved by the securities regulator, the CSE has comprised of 13 members.
Demutualised board included seven independent directors, including the chairman, four shareholder directors, managing director and a strategic investor.
Presently, the post of strategic investor remains vacant in the boards of both the exchanges in absence of any strategic partner.
