DBH home loan amount crosses Tk. 50 billion

The cumulative home loan disbursement of Delta Brac Housing Finance Corporation Ltd. (DBH) has crossed Taka 50 billion, the highest amount of home loans disbursed by a single private financial institution in the housing sector.

A loan disbursement function was organized at the Company's Head Office in Gulshan recently to mark the event.

Head of Operations Nasimul Baten handed over the home loan disbursement cheque to their clients Sawda Sharmin and Md. Mahbubur Rahman at the function which was attended, among others, by Company's Managing Director & CEO Q. M. Shariful Ala, Head of Credit Tanvir Kamal and other senior officials of DBH.  

With the handing over the cheque, DBH's home loan disbursement crossed Tk. 50 billion. This amount together with clients' own equity contribution of equivalent amount helped DBH channelize more than Tk. 100 billion investments in housing sector since its inception, said Shariful Ala.  

Shariful Ala said that DBH, a joint venture of BRAC, Delta Life Insurance, Green Delta Insurance, IFC of World Bank Group and HDFC of India started its operation in 1996, has emerged as the largest specialized Housing Finance Institution (HFI) in the country, and is making a major impact on the growth of home ownership in the country.

Shariful Ala remarked that the Company, whilst disbursing Tk.50 billion home loans, has retained  the highest 'AAA' credit rating for eight consecutive years, and still managed to keep its non performing loan ratio to below 0.50% level, which is an exceptional achievement in the Bangladesh financial sector, Shariful Ala said.
