Dhaka Bank to pay 12pc dividend for 2020

Takaful Insurance declares 10pc cash dividend

Dhaka Bank has recommended 6.0 per cent cash and 6.0 per cent stock dividend while Takaful Islami Insurance declared a 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

Dhaka Bank: The board of directors of Dhaka Bank has declared 6.0 per cent cash and 6.0 per cent stock dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

The final approval of the dividend will come during the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held on June 29 at 11:30am using the digital platform.

The record date is set on May 31, the bank said in a filing with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Sunday.

The bank has also reported consolidated earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 2.22, consolidated net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk 21.69 and consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) of Tk 5.93 for the year ended on December 31, 2020 as against Tk 1.81, Tk 19.98 and Tk 6.95 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

In 2019, the bank disbursed 5.0 per cent cash and 5.0 per cent stock dividend.

Each share of the bank, which was listed on the DSE in 2000, closed at Tk 12.80 on Sunday, gaining 0.78 per cent over the previous day. Its shares traded between Tk 9.90 and Tk 14 in the last one year.

The bank's paid-up capital is Tk 8.95 billion and authorised capital is Tk 10 billion, while the total number of securities is 895.87 million.

The sponsor-directors own 41.12 per cent stake in the bank while the institutional investors own 12.99 per cent and the general public 45.89 per cent as on March 31, 2021, the DSE data shows.

Takaful Insurance: The board of directors of Takaful Insurance has recommended 10 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

The AGM will be held on July 31 at 11:00am using the digital platform. The record date is set on June 21.

The non-life insurer has also reported EPS of Tk 1.65, NAV per share of Tk 17.97 and NOCFPS of Tk 2.94 for the year ended on December 31, 2020 as against Tk 1.64, Tk 17.23 and Tk 1.78 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

In 2019, the company also disbursed 10 per cent cash dividend.

Each share of the insurer, which was listed on the DSE in 2008, closed at Tk 53.50 on Sunday, losing 8.70 per cent. Its shares traded between Tk 28.20 and Tk 65.60 in the last one year.

The company's paid-up capital is Tk 425.87 million and authorised capital is Tk 1.0 billion, while the total number of securities is 42.58 million.

The sponsor-directors own 50.87 per cent stake in the company while the institutional investors own 21.50 per cent, foreign investors 0.08 per cent and the general public 27.55 per cent as on March 31, 2021, the DSE data shows.
