The Dhaka and Chittagong bourses will work together to "restore investors' confidence, said the DSE chairman.
The stock market is currently going through a tough time. "To overcome the crisis, the bourses need to work together," said the newly-appointed DSE Chairman Prof Dr Hafiz Md Hasan Babu.
He said this while the re-elected chairman of CSE Asif Ibrahim had a courtesy meeting with him on Wednesday at the DSE office at Nikunja in the capital, according to a statement.
The DSE chairman said the bourses take action plans to restore the confidence of investors in the market.
"The stock market is a driving force of the country's economic development, so we have to give highest priority to make the stock market vibrant at any cost."
Industrialization is necessary for the economic growth and the stock market is the source of long-term financing.
"So, we have to work together to bring well-performing companies to the capital market to revive investors' confidence in the market".
The DSE chairman also spoke of diversifying the market.
"We want to set some specific goals," said CSE Chairman Asif Ibrahim.
