Dipal made ambassador of Global RE

Dipal Chandra Barua, president of Bangladesh Solar & Renewable Energy Association (BSREA), has been nominated as an Ambassador of Global 100% Renewable Energy (RE) Campaign.
The Global 100% RE Campaign, the first international initiative that advocates and inspires change for cent percent RE, in a letter confirmed Mr Barua about the nomination recently, said a press release.
The letter said as a passionate and long-standing champion for sustainability, you (Mr Barua) understand well that the transition from burning fossil resource to generate energy to renewable energy is inevitable.
"You have been nominated to join the Ambassadors after a wide consultation process involving the executive committee as well as partners of the campaign," it noted.
Ambassadors are expected to support campaign partners in communicating the initiative as well as the message that 100% RE is necessary and feasible. By representing the campaign at high-level events Ambassadors become the public face of Global 100% RE, added the letter.
Mr Barua earlier received the First Zayed Future Energy prize which is known as the Nobel prize in the energy sector. He was also elected as the first member of Green Climate Fund from the developing countries.
