Dr Md Kamrul Huda, the Chief Scientific Officer and Director of the Quality Management Department of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), has been appointed as the Chairman (current charge) of the BAEC, says a statement.
During his 33-year career at the BAEC, Dr Kamrul Huda has carried out various types of theoretical research, heat transfer and safety analysis work on the 3 Megawatt Triga Mark-2 Research Reactor located in Savar, as well as performed experimental work to monitor the quality of shielding materials.
Besides, he has worked on various code designs, burn-up analysis, and safety parameter determination for nuclear power plants, and is currently involved in the overall activities of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project.
Dr. Kamrul completed his BSc and MSc in physics from the University of Dhaka. Later, he earned his PhD in reactor physics from Jahangirnagar University.
