DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh

The board of directors of the DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) led by its President Saiful Islam attended a courtesy meeting with the board of directors of the Dhaka Stocks Exchange (DSE) on Wednesday. DSE Chairman Dr Hafiz Muhammad Hasan Babu presided over the meeting. Senior Vice President of DBA Md Saifuddin, Vice President Omar Haidar and directors of DSE Md Afzal Hossain, Rubaba Dowla, Md Shakil Rizvi, Mohammad Shahjahan, Sharif Anwar Hossain, Richard D' Rozario and Managing Director and CEO of DSE Dr ATM Tariquzzaman attended the meeting. Stock brokers, who had once been in favour of artificially keeping the market from a decline, want to get rid of it. The BSEC imposed the floor price in July 2022 to arrest free fall of the market amid macroeconomic worries intensified by the post-Covid impacts and the Ukraine-Russia war.
