DSE, CSE hold demo on ESS

The Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges jointly organised a demonstration programme on Electronic Subscription System (ESS) at the Dhaka office of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Monday.

The exchanges arranged such programme to aware the investors about the new directives regarding the code of conduct of eligible investors.

Representatives of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and TREC (Trading Right Entitlement Certificate) holders of the port city bourse were present.

"A detail presentation was given on the theoretical and practical aspect of the new IPO application process," said a CSE release.

The CSE's Dhaka office in-charge Md. Ghulam Faruque, DSE's DGM-Formation of CCP Department Mohammed Imam Hossain, among others, also present at the event.

A latest amendment to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Pubic Issue) Rules, 2015 was published in the official gazette on July 6, 2017.

As per the amendments, all the eligible institutional investors have to apply for IPO shares through the new joint ESS of the CSE and DSE.

The securities regulator has also issued a new directive regarding the code of conduct of eligible investors on February 20, 2018.
