Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has sought the securities regulator's support to help incorporate its proposals in the budget of the next fiscal year, officials said.
The premier bourse made the appeal Thursday when the DSE expressed their gratitude to the extension of the tenures of the chairman and commissioners of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).
The DSE delegation led by its Chairman Justice Siddiqur Rahman Mia has also discussed the situation of the capital market.
After holding a meeting with the BSEC policy makers, the DSE Managing Director Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala said that they had also discussed the post-demutualisation activities of the exchange.
"We have discussed the cost reduction issue of the exchange, introduction of new products in the market and the way of searching the strategic partners for the exchange," said Mr. Bala.
He said at the meeting the matter of introducing clearing corporation in the stock markets has also been discussed.
The BSEC Chairman Professor M Khairul, three commissioners, Professor Helal Uddin Nizami, Amzad Hossain, Arif Khan and A Salam Sikder, were present at the meeting held with the DSE leaders.
