DSE launches flexible trading system today

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) will launch New Automated Trading System today (Thursday) with a view to accelerate trading activities by resolving existing complexities, officials said.

MA Mannan MP, the state minister for Finance Ministry, will inaugurate the launching of the trading software as chief guest at a city hotel.

Chairman of the securities regulator Professor M Khairul Hossain will attend the programmee as special guest.

In this regard, the premier bourse Wednesday held a press briefing at DSE office.

"Tenure of the existing trading software will end by December 31 this year. Moreover, there are some complexities with the existing trading system. That's why it was urgent for us to upgrade our trading software," DSE managing director Dr, Swapan Kumar told the press briefing.

He said 'auto adjustable trading system' will be multi product based whereas the existing trading software is single product based.

Eight vendors such bas NASDAQ OMX and Flex Trade are working to introduce the New Automated Trading System which costs Tk 350 million.

"From now on there will be no problem of executing odd lot transactions as the system will accept the order of any number of shares," Bala added.

The DSE officials said additional features which have been included in new Automated Trading System will also resolve the problems of manual input in fixing the rages of circuit breaker for individual equity and transaction of listed bonds.

The upcoming system will also remove the complexities of calculating the fractional prices ordered by investors to purchase or sell the shares of the listed companies.

"The system, which will be introduced from Thursday, will also facilitate investors to execute share trading through the internet used in ipad and android phones from April," DSE managing director said.

To adopt the newly facilitated trading system some innovations have also been ensured in brokers' end.

Trading computers in brokers' end must be registered with the respective manufacturing companies.
