The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has decided to introduce the T+2 trading cycle shortly replacing the existing T+3 to increase liquidity flow in the capital market, officials said.
Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala, the DSE chief executive officer (CEO), said the decision of introducing the T+2 trading cycle was taken at a board meeting held Thursday.
"The DSE board gave its instruction to take necessary steps for changing the trading regulations so that the T+2 can be launched shortly," Mr. Bala told the FE.
He said the DSE would inform its members next week to be prepared for the reduced trading cycle.
"After getting regulatory consent, the T+2 will come into effect by changing the trading regulations," said the DSE CEO.
Meanwhile, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) launched the T+2 trading cycle on November 3 last completing necessary procedures.
