DSE welcomes budget

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has appreciated the budgetary measures for fiscal year 2018-19, especially the importance laid on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and setting up of industries in the districts.

The government's initiative would enhance the industrial development of the country, the premier bourse said in a statement, offering its support in terms of mobilisation of capital.

"The country's capital market is one of the largest sources of the long-term financing."

The DSE congratulated Finance Minister AMA Muhith for presenting the 10th budget of the government and welcomed the strategies proposed in the budget for the country's sustainable development.

"The finance minister has laid importance on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the district-wise industry establishment along with infrastructure development," said the DSE.

It added that the capital market will play a role of a development partner of the country in achieving the desired targets.
