Md. Showkat Ali Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL), presided over the 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the bank held on virtual platform on Wednesday. Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director & CEO and Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Acting Company Secretary, were also present. Eadtern Bank Ltd ( EBL) declared 15 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on 31 December 2019. Shareholders unanimously approved the dividend at the 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the bank held on virtual platform on Wednesday, said a statement.
Md. Showkat Ali Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, presided over the meeting which was attended by the Directors M. Ghaziul Haque, Mir Nasir Hossain, Salina Ali, Anis Ahmed, Meah Mohammed Abdur Rahim, Mufakkharul Islam Khasru, Ormaan Rafay Nizam, Gazi Md. Shakhawat Hossain. Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO and Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Acting Company Secretary and a large number of shareholders also joined the meeting.
Shareholders appreciated the board and management for the financial performance of the bank despite challenging environment. The dividend declared by EBL is one of the highest among similar sized (in terms of paid-up capital) commercial banks of the country.
