Eastland Ins settles a claim for Tk 204.1m

Eastland Insurance Co. Ltd. settled a claim for Tk. 204.1 million of M/s. Westmont Power (Bangladesh) Ltd., a subsidiary power plant of United Group under Power Plant Operational Insurance Policy.

Mr. Arun Kumar Saha, Managing Director of Eastland Insurance handed over the claim cheque to Mr. Hasan Mahmood Raja, Chairman of United Group at United Center Tuesday. Mr. Abdul Hamid FCA, Deputy Managing Director & CFO and Mr. M. Golam Hafez, Sr. Asstt. Managing Director & Head of Claims Deptt. of Eastland Insurance alongwith Mr. Ebadat Hossain Bhuiyan, Group Financial Controller & Company Secretary of United Group were also present on this occasion.

Eastland also paid Westmont Power's another claim amounting over Tk. 20 million for damages to the same plant located at Baghabari, Sirajgonj in the last year, said a statement.
