Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a partnership agreement with bKash Limited to launch 24/7 automated cash management services for bKash's agents, distributors, and partners across the country.
Under the deal, bKash's network of agents and distributors maintaining accounts with EBL will gain round-the-clock access to automated fund transfers, instant settlements, and improved liquidity management, removing the constraints of traditional banking hours.
bKash, the country's largest mobile financial service provider, serves millions of customers through an extensive network of agents and distributors nationwide.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed Shaheen, additional managing director of EBL, and Moinuddin Mohammed Rahgir, chief financial officer of bKash, at a ceremony at EBL's head office in Dhaka in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
Mr Shaheen said the collaboration reflects EBL's commitment to building a smarter digital ecosystem and strengthening financial inclusion. Mr Rahgir noted that the partnership would enhance convenience and ensure uninterrupted financial services for millions across the country.
The initiative aligns with EBL's broader strategy to expand its digital banking capabilities and support the growth of Bangladesh's digital financial ecosystem.
