Abul Khair Steel, a prominent player in the steel industry, recently organised a factory visit titled 'AKS World of Steel' to the largest integrated steel making plant in the country.
The event attracted 110 final-year engineering students from renowned universities such as BUET, CUET, RUET, KUET, MIST, and AUST, says a press release.
The visit was held on June 9 and 10, aimed at fostering collaboration between academics and the industry while providing aspiring engineers with a practical understanding of steel manufacturing processes.
The visit began with a guided tour of the mega-factory, where they witnessed the entire steel production process firsthand. They were particularly amazed by the sight of massive furnaces transforming raw materials into molten metal, as well as the advanced machinery and automation systems that enhance production efficiency and precision.
After the visit, the students spent the night at Foy's Lake Resort where the General Manager of Abul Khair Steel Products Limited delivered inspiring words to them, uplifting and motivating them, followed by a band programme.
The next day, the students visited another factory for an extended session of knowledge gathering.
Throughout the entire visit, students had the opportunity to interact with experienced engineers and technical staff, who answered all their questions and shared insights gained from their years of experience in the steel industry.
This was followed by a presentation by industry experts who discussed the company's history, achievements, and dedication to technological advancements.
