EPL (Export Link) Accessories Limited, a leading Bangladeshi company, has entered into a lease agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) to set up an accessories manufacturing facility in the BEPZA Economic Zone (EZ).
The company plans to invest US$ 8 million in the project, which is expected to create 610 new jobs for local workers, says a statement.
EPL Accessories plans to manufacture a variety of products, including foam, cartons, poly, and gum tape. The company will also have the capacity to carry out foam and fabric lamination, screen printing, and embroidery within the facility.
BEPZA's Member for Investment Promotion Md Ashraful Kabir and Managing Director of EPL Accessories Kazi Monowar Hossain signed the agreement at the BEPZA office in Dhaka on Wednesday in presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.
The BEPZA Executive Chairman expressed his appreciation for EPL Accessories' investment in the BEPZA EZ and assured the company of providing necessary support for smooth operation of its business activities.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior BEPZA officials, including Member (Engineering) Md Imtiaz Hossain, Member (Finance) A N M Foyzul Haque, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Enterprise Services) Md Khorshid Alam, Project Director of BEPZA EZ Mohammad Anamul Haque, Executive Director (Public Relations) ASM Anwar Parvez and representatives of EPL (Export Link) Accessories Limited.
