October 25, 2022 00:00:00
Shyampur Sugar Mills Ltd reported a loss of Tk 265.20 million (26.52 crore) in the last financial year, down from Tk 625.7 million (62.57 crore) the company incured in the previous financial year.
The board of directors has recommended no dividend for the year ending June 30 this year, according to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Earning per share (EPS), Net Operating Cash Flow per share (NOCFPS) & Net Asset Value (NAV) have been negative as the government decided to suspend the operation of the mill due to recurring losses, high production cost, and net capital deficiency in the operation activity.
The company posted EPS of Tk 53.03, down from Tk 125.14 in fiscal 2020-21.
Amid mounting losses, the government in December 2020 halted the production at Shyampur Sugar Mills, along with five other state-run sugar mills.
