Fazlul Haque joins IIFC as Managing Director

AKM Fazlul Haque has recently joined as the Managing Director of Infrastructure Investment Facilitation Company (IIFC). He was a secretary of the Government of Bangladesh, says a press release.
Mr. Haque hails from Barhatta upazila under Netrakona district. He completed his graduation and post-graduation in social welfare from the Dhaka University. He also completed Diploma in Education from the Dhaka University and obtained a master's degree in Public Health from the North South University.
In 1993, Mr Haque joined the BCS (Admin) cadre as Assistant Commissioner & Magistrate. He served as Senior Assistant Secretary in Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources, and at Ministry of Youth and Sports. As Deputy Secretary, he worked in the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. As Joint Secretary, he served the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and as an Additional Secretary, he worked in the same Ministry and also in the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Energy and Mineral Resources Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources.
Mr. Haque joined the Ministry of Planning after being promoted to the post of Secretary on 9th February 2022 and lastly, he served successfully as a member (Secretary) of Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Institutions Division and Industry & Power Division till 3rd March 2024. On 19th June 2024, Mr Haque joined IIFC as Managing Director.
IIFC is a well-known consulting Company in Bangladesh under Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance, which provides Technical Assistance Services in various fields, including public and private procurement and PPP transaction, research, survey, financial and economic analysis and impact assessment, training & capacity building and policy & advocacy.
