First electric power tiller unveiled in BD

Farmers Market Asia, a pioneering force in global sustainable agri-solutions, and Cassetex, a leading electric vehicle solutions company, jointly launched the region's first electric power tiller at the International Exhibition on Electric Vehicle & Mobility Industry (BEVMX) 2024 in Dhaka on Sunday, says a statement.

Cassetex, the country's first battery swapping network, is showcasing various electric vehicle products, including the power tiller. This electric power tiller comes with battery-swapping technology, giving farmers the opportunity to rent affordable batteries to strengthen their farming ecosystem.

Created by talented researchers at the Advanced Dynamics EV Research Center of Cassetex, the new power tiller with high-efficiency battery-powered electric motor aims to replace traditional fossil fuel-driven power tillers.

This revolutionary product will support conversion of existing diesel power tillers, representing a global market size of Tk 800 billion.

The electric power tiller will reduce 60 per cent of fuel cost of farmers, which will create scope for them to reinvest in their farms.

Moreover, the battery-swapping mechanism allows farmers to work without interruption. Switching from diesel to electric power significantly cuts down on emissions and opens the door to using renewable energy.
