Good governance in industries stressed to increase output

Speakers at a programme have underscored the need for ensuring good governance in the management of industries for increasing productivity, reports BSS.

They said good governance plays a significant role in creating employment as well as developing skills of workforce for boosting productivity in industrial sector which is a crucial for the economic growth of a country.

They expressed the opinion at the event styled 'National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2019 and Institutional Appreciation Award-2019' at the auditorium of Khulna Circuit House in Khulna city on Thursday.

Khulna division administration organised the programme in association with the National Productivity Organisation (NPO).

Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Dr Md Anwar Hossain Howlader attended the event as the chief guest. ADC (revenue) Sarwar Ahmed Salehin presided

over the programme.

Director (Joint Secretary) of NPO under the Ministry of Industries Nischinta Kumar Podder, Additional Divisional Commissioner Habibul Haque Khan, President of National Small and Cottage Industry Association of Bangladesh Mirza Nurul Gony Shovon and Additional Divisional Commissioner (dev) Sayed Robiul Islam, addressed the programme as special guests.

The speakers have observed that Bangladesh has already achieved remarkable success in poverty alleviation through good governance.

Senior Research Officer of NPO Md Nazrul Islam screened key note paper while senior research officer of NPO Fatema Begum attended the function as course co-coordinator.
