Govt to create 100 more entrepreneurs in ICT sector this year: Palak

Employment scopes to be made for more 1.0m youths in next five yrs, he tells JS

State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said the government will create employment opportunities for at least 1.0 million (10 lakh) youths in the country's ICT sector in the next five years.

He also said that the government will create 100 more entrepreneurs in the ICT sector this year, reports BSS.

"The government has created employment opportunities for 10 lakh people in the ICT sector in the past 10 years. It will create working opportunities for another 10 lakh youths in the sector in the next five years," Palak told the Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament) after taking part in the general discussion on a thanksgiving motion on the President's speech.

He said the government will introduce 2,000 more digital services for people in the next five years. The government will create 100 entrepreneurs in the ICT sector this year, he told the House.

Treasury bench lawmakers Enamul Haque, AFM Ruhal Haque, Md. Abdus Sobhan Miah, Kaniz Fatema Ahmed and Benjir Ahmed, Jatiya Party MP Shameem Haider Patwary and BNP lawmaker Rumeen Farhana took part in the discussion with Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Highlighting the President's speech on the celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the lawmakers said celebration of Bangabandhu's birth centenary will remain as a milestone in the history.

The lawmakers thanked the President for giving a time befitting speech highlighting the successful stories of the government and guiding the nation towards peace and prosperity.

Earlier, they paid rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for his contribution to establishing an independent Bangladesh.
