FE REPORT

Grameenphone (GP) has doubled its minimum recharge (flexiload) limit at the customer level, according to a statement by the private mobile telecommunications operator.

The telecom company set a minimum mobile recharge limit of Tk 20 from July 01, 2022, becoming the first Bangladeshi operator to double the minimum recharge limit.

Earlier, the minimum recharge limit for Grameenphone subscribers was Tk 10.

The operator came up with the decision a day after the regulator banned selling new SIMs as a punitive action for not improving quality of service.

The operator sent SMS to customers informing the decision.

According to Grameenphone's SMS, from now on, the customers won't be allowed to recharge less than Tk 20.

However, the customers can still buy the Grameenphone's minute packages of Tk 16 and Tk 14, it said. They can also avail the special call rate facility for two days and three days on any local number by recharging Tk 21 and Tk 29.

Apart from this, there is no ban on the use of scratch cards or bundle minute packs worth less than Tk 20 in the market.

When asked for their instant reactions about the decision to double the recharge limit, marginal subscribers termed it a bad news.
