GPH Ispat approves 10pc dividend

CHITTAGONG, Dec 10: GPH Ispat Ltd approved 10 per cent (5.0 per cent cash and 5.0 per cent bonus) dividend for its shareholders for the fiscal year 2016-17.
The dividend was approved at the 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company held at Chittagong Club auditorium in the port city today.
Chairman of GPH Ispat Md Alamgir Kabir presided over the AGM. The AGM also approved unanimously the financial reports, relevant audit reports and reports of the Board of Directors.
In his speech, Alamgir Kabir said a strong and intellectual management team and an independent corporate structure are behind the success of GPH Ispat.
The company's working skill and production results are also linked with overall cost management, and for these reasons, the company has overcome the possible challenges and earned profit for the shareholders.
Managing Director of GPH Ispat Mohammed Jahangir Alam said they are working relentlessly over the last few years to set up a state-of-the-art steel plant equipped with ultramodern technology in Bangladesh and installation of the new project is going on in full swing.
Additional MD of the GPH Ispat Md Almas Shimul, Director Abdur Rauf, Md Asrafuzzaman, Md Abdul Ahad, Md Azizul Haque, Independent Director Prof Dr Saleh Jahur, Group Executive Director Abu Bakkar Siddique, Engineer Madani M Imtiaz Hossain, Executive Director Kamrul Islam, Company Secretary Arafat Kamal and Chief Finance officer HM Ashraf Uz Zaman were present in the programme.
