Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd (PGCB) has commissioned a newly constructed 132/33kV grid sub-station at Chowddogram in Cumilla district. Power consumers of the adjacent areas like Chowddogram, Miah Bazar, Batisha, Laksham, Langolcourt, Baghmara and Cheora will get reliable and quality electricity through the newly commissioned grid sub-station.

The new sub-station is connected with the existing 132kV Feni-Cumilla transmission line through the newly constructed one km transmission line. Two 50/75 MVA capacity transformer has set up inside the grid sub-station to facilitate power transmission smoothly. The total cost for the construction of the sub-station is approximately BDT 500 million.

Development partners JICA, GOB and PGCB jointly financed the construction of the sub-station. This sub-station will minimize the low voltage problem to the adjacent areas. Reliable and quality electricity through the newly commissioning grid sub-station will increase the possibility of industrialization to the nearest area. The new grid sub-station is providing power to local PBS and Bangladesh Power Development Board through eight 33kV feeder.
