The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) and the Daily Star hosted the 23rd O & A level Awards ceremony at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday. For English medium students of Bangladesh, this is the most valued recognition for their academic excellence. Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal was present at the event as the chief guest. Matt Cannell, Acting High Commissioner at the British High Commission, Dhaka, Mahfuz Anam, Editor & Publisher of The Daily Star, and Md Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, were also present. The event recognised approximately 2500 students.
