Humanitarian aid for flood victims

Sri Lanka-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SLBCCI) in collaboration with Sri Lanka Association of Bangladesh (SLAB) came forward to partner with It's Humanity Foundation (IHF), an active organisation in emergency response programmes, to reach out the victims of the recent floods that swept across in many parts of the country, says a press release.

SLBCCI & SLAB has taken initiatives to provide life-saving medicines such as Saline, Flagyl, Napa, etc for the victims of the devastating flood. Besides, sanitary kits comprising toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, washing powder, disinfectant liquid, mosquito nets also have been provided.

This humanitarian assistance includes individual hygiene packs which contain basic family requirements.

As every individual family being covered with a pack of basic medicines with a special emphasis were given to avoid water bound deceases that can be spread in the flood affected areas.

IHF is going to carry out the packaging and will reach out to the needy in the districts of Feni, Noakhali, Comilla, Khagrachari, Rajnagar of Habiganj and Moulvibazar.

Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dharmapala Weerakkody along with SLBCCI President Najith Meewanage, General Secretary of SLAB Tharindu Dissanayake together with the respective governing body members of both apex bodies were present at the ceremony to hand over a token of the consignment to Adnan Hossain, founder of IHF.
