The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has elected N. K. A. Mobin as its new president.
Also, four new vice presidents of the Institute have been elected.
They are Suraiya Zannath, Md Rokonuzzaman, Muhammad Mehedi Hasan and Md Moniruzzaman.
They took over charges of respective offices on Tuesday and will work for the Institute for a period of one year.
The outgoing ICAB President Maria Howlader completed her tenure successfully, said an ICAB press release.
Mr Mobin is currently the Executive President of Emerging Credit Rating Limited (ECRL), a licensed Credit Rating Company in Bangladesh.
He is also one of the sponsor directors of the ECRL.
Mr Mobin had served the Institute as vice president in 2019 and 2022. He also led the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) as senior vice-president for two years.
He worked in Swedish/Dhaka Match, KAFCO, Ciba-Geigy/Novartis Bangladesh Limited and lastly in GrameenPhone Ltd., where he served as Finance Director and Company Secretary.
Mr Mobin has been serving as the government -nominated Board Director in Biman Bangladesh Airlines since August 2024.
