IDCOL to construct green bldg as its HQs

An award giving ceremony was held on Sunday at Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) to select the architectural consultant and design for the green building of IDCOL with cooperation of Institutes of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) where 9 best architectural designs were selected for acknowledging their effort as per the policy of IAB. AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Director, Board of IDCOL, handed over the prizes among the winners as the Chief Guest. Jalal Ahmed, President of IAB presided over the ceremony and the Executive Director and CEO of IDCOL, Mahmood Malik delivered the vote of thanks

S. M. Monirul Islam, Deputy CEO & CFO of IDCOL and M. Maftun Ahmed, Company Secretary of IDCOL were also present during the ceremony. On behalf of IAB, Bayejid Mahbub Khandaker and Asif Wahid with senior architects of the institutes attended.
More than 60 architectural firms participated in the design contest where 9 best architectural designs are selected for acknowledging their effort as per the policy of IAB.
Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), a financial institution owned by the government, was granted a plot in the Sher-E-Bangla Nagar administrative area, Agargaon, Dhaka by the Ministry of Housing & Public Works. IDCOL has undertaken the initiative to popularize the construction of eco-friendly and energy efficient residential/commercial buildings in Bangladesh by constructing a Green Building as its own headquarters. IDCOL plans to obtain the Platinum certification from Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) for this project.
