IIDFC seminar on executive development held

IIDFC organised a day-long seminar on Executive Development for its senior and mid-level officials Monday at MCCI Seminar room. The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. S. K. Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank as Chief Guest and was chaired by M.

IIDFC organised a daylong seminar on Executive Development for its senior and mid level officials Monday at MCCI Seminar room.

The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. S. K. Sur Chowdhury, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank  as Chief Guest and was chaired by Mr. M. Matiul Islam, Chairman, IIDFC.  The working session started after the inaugural session and lunch break was chaired by Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman Khan, Managing Director, IIDFC.

Mr. S. K. Sur Chowdhury, in his inaugural speech appreciated the contribution of IIDFC towards infrastructure and economic development. While focusing prospects and challenges of non bank financial institutions in the context of Bangladesh economy, he emphasised on initiating and implementing all types of risk mitigation actions both for IIDFC and other peer institutions. Considering the market competition, he urged for product diversification and strengthen core business of non bank financial institutions.  He also explained in brief about the positive development of all economic indicators in Bangladesh. Mr. M. Matiul Islam in his speech mentioned about the activities of IIDFC specially the development of carbon emission and energy saving financing. He also requested Deputy Governor to find out any suitable option to reduce the frequency of reporting to Bangladesh Bank keeping the objective and quality of information unchanged.

The second session was interactive among various departments of IIDFC. All the department heads in their speech highlighted activities and challenges of their respective departments. Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman Khan as working session chair, in his concluding remarks highlighted the outcomes of the seminar and expressed his willingness to arrange such seminar on regular basis. He also outlined and suggested in-house training and interactive meeting within various departments at certain interval, said a press release.
