Midland Bank has appointed Imtiaz U. Ahmed as its new managing director & CEO, according to a press release.
A seasoned leader with a proven track record in the financial services sector, Imtiaz joins Midland Bank at a pivotal time-as the institution seeks to expand its market footprint and accelerate its digital transformation.
He brings a wealth of professional experience gained through various key leadership roles at both the branch and corporate head office levels.
Imtiaz's extensive expertise encompasses corporate and institutional banking, export financing, internal control and compliance, human resources, special asset management and treasury management.
Imtiaz possesses a distinguished career in the banking sector spanning over 25 years, including tenures at Shahjalal Islami Bank and Eastern Bank. Before entering the banking industry, he built a strong professional foundation in the capital markets at the Chittagong Stock Exchange and in the professional audit environment at KPMG Rahman Rahman Huq.
A postgraduate in both finance and accounting, Imtiaz has attended numerous professional training programmes, seminars, and symposiums at home and abroad.
