BO (beneficiary owner's) account holders from now on will be able to know the status of their portfolios through the service of Internet Balance Inquiry and SMS (Short Message Service) alerts, officials said.
The officials of the Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL) said BO account-holders willing to get their investment related information will get the service by completing registration though their respective brokerage firms.
"Investors earlier were allowed to be registered through the CDBL only to avail the services of internet balance inquiry and SMS alerts. From now on they can avail our services by completing registration through their respective brokerage firms," said Shuvra Kanti Choudhury, the deputy managing director of the CDBL.
He said the CDBL provides two services: Internet Balance Inquiry service and SMS Alert Service.
"BO account holders will be able to check their balance of portfolios using user name and password provided by the CDBL. And information of debit and credit of investors' portfolios will be served through SMS alerts of cell phones," Choudhury said.
He said both the services will require an annual fee of Tk 200 each. SMS charge will be imposed in case of providing SMS alert service along with the annual fee of Tk 200.
Choudhury said the brokerage firms have already been informed of the CDBL services so that their clients are inspired to avail of the facilities.
