IPDC Finance leads DSE turnover chart

Ten most-traded cos grab 37pc transaction

Ten most-traded stocks grabbed nearly 37 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange while IPDC Finance topped the turnover list after a long time.

Market operators said IPDC Finance dominated the turnover chart as investors showed their buying appetite on its shares amid high hopes.

According to statistics available with the DSE, some 13 million shares of IPDC Finance were traded, generating a turnover of Tk 579.66 million, which was 6.92 per cent of the day's total turnover.

The company's share price also rose 9.93 per cent to close at Tk 45.40 on Sunday. It was the day's third highest gainer.

The country's first private sector non-bank financial institution shares jumped 33.52 per cent or Tk 11.40 each in the past four trading days since March 28.

The company's shares traded between Tk 21.40 and Tk 49.70 in the last one year.

IPDC Finance posted a 24.73 per cent growth in its earnings per share for the year ended on December 31, 2021 compared to the same period of the previous year.

The company has also reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 2.37 as against Tk 1.90 for the same period of the previous year.

Accordingly, the board of directors of the company has recommended a 12 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on December 31, 2021.

Provati Insurance came second on the turnover list, with shares worth nearly Tk 446 million changing hands. The insurer's share price, however, fell 1.95 per cent to close at Tk 15.50 each on Sunday.

Beximco clinched the third spot, with shares worth over Tk 363 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 152.10, losing 0.65 per cent.

Fortune Shoes emerged as fourth, with shares worth Tk 363 million changing hands. The shoe maker's share price fell 1.96 per cent to close at Tk 140 each.

GSP Finance notched the fifth spot, with shares worth over Tk 299 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 29.60, soaring 5.34 per cent over the previous day.

Genex Infosys featured a turnover of Tk 270 million. The company's share price rose 1.85 per cent to close at Tk 121.80 each on Sunday.

The turnover of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh was Tk 215 million. The multinational cement maker's share price jumped 4.0 per cent to close at Tk 78 each.

Nahee Aluminum featured a turnover of Tk 194 million. The company's share closed at Tk 69.90 each, shedding 0.71 per cent.

The turnover of Yeakin Polymer was Tk 192 million. The company's share closed at Tk 24.50, remaining unchanged over the previous day.

VFS Thread Dyeing also made its way to the day's top turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 159 million changing hands. The company's share closed at Tk 25.10, gaining 1.62 per cent over the previous day.
