IPDC Finance PLC has partnered with TishCAN to support the upcoming 'TishCAN Pink Afternoon: Breast Cancer Awareness & Wellness' event, scheduled to take place tomorrow at Jogger's Park, Gulshan Society Lake Park in the capital.
The Pink Afternoon is a part of TishCAN's Pink October activities. The event will bring together voices from the medical, corporate, and wellness communities to promote awareness about breast cancer and highlight the importance of early detection and overall well-being, says a press statement.
The event will feature discussions, survivor stories, and an energizing Zumba session, creating an engaging space for both education and empowerment.
Dr. Shifat Tanjila, a practicing surgeon, will speak on breast cancer signs and early detection; Shamarukh Fakhruddin, Director at Urmi Group and a breast cancer survivor, will share her journey of resilience; and Samia Afreen, entrepreneur and TV anchor, will speak on the importance of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
To conclude the event, certified instructor ZIN Aayan will lead a Zumba session, reinforcing the role of physical activity in overall wellness.
Speaking about the collaboration, Fahima Khan, Chief Financial Officer of IPDC Finance, said, "At IPDC, we believe that true progress is not only about financial growth but also about enabling healthier, more aware communities. Partnering with TishCAN reflects our commitment to social causes that empower people, especially women, to lead stronger, more confident lives."
Founder of TishCAN, Nuzhat Tarannum, added: "Pink Afternoon is about breaking the stigma, encouraging early screening, and building a community of support. We are grateful to IPDC Finance for standing with us in this mission to spread awareness and hope."
The event is free for all, with any donations along with the Tk 1000 registration fee for the Zumba session will go directly towards TishCAN's awareness and support programmes.
Participants are encouraged to wear pink in solidarity and dress comfortably for light physical activities like stretching and dance.
