Md. Jafar Sadeq has been promoted to the position of deputy managing director of Shahjalal Islami Bank.
Prior to the promotion, he served as senior executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) of the bank, with additional leadership responsibilities for the payment & settlement division, common services division and branding & product development department, alongside core financial functions, according to a press release.
Sadeq is a fellow chartered accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh. He holds master's degree in accounting from the Jagannath University having sound academic track records. He began his professional career in 2002 with HodaVasi Chowdhury, Chartered Accountants, where he developed a solid foundation in auditing, financial control systems, regulatory compliance and corporate governance practices.
He commenced his banking career with One Bank and later joined Shahjalal Islami Bank in 2006 in the financial administration division.
