Jamuna Oil AGM approves 90pc dividend

CHITTAGONG, January 25: The annual general meeting of Jamuna Oil Co Ltd was held at a hotel in the city today. The meeting was presided over by Md Abu Taher, chairman, board of directors of the company who is also the additional secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.

Directors of the board Md Eunusur Rahman,, chairman Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, Md Alauddin, member, National Board of Revenue Mamataaz-Ala-Shakoor Ahmed, additional secretary, Finance Division, ministry of Finance, Md Sefaul Alam, joint secretary (development) Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Md Abu Yusuf Miah, deputy chief, Energy and Mineral Resources Division KM Hassan Kabir Arif, director Mozammmel Hoque Bhuiyan, shareholders director and Alim Uddin Ahmed, director and managing director, Jamuna Oil Co Ltd participated in the discussion, Company secretary Md Nazmul Hoque assisted the chairman in conducting the meeting.

The 38th AGM was informed that the company earned Tk 1.99 billion post tax profit and approved 90% cash dividend, that is, at Tk 9.00 per share and 10% stock dividend out of profit of 2012-13 financial year. The meeting was also informed that the company deposited Tk 753.2 million as VAT, Income Tax and other statutory charges in the same financial year. The board of directors and shareholders of the company expressed their satisfaction on the present activities, and financial result of the company.
