Janata Bank gets a new director

Prof Dr. A. A. Mahbubuddin Chowdhury of the finance department at Dhaka University has recently joined as a director of Janata Bank PLC.

Dr Chowdhury has been teaching at Dhaka University for over four decades and has also served as the chairman of the finance department, says a press statement.

He obtained his B.Com (Honours) and M.Com degrees from the finance department of Dhaka University. He also earned his post-graduation degree in economics from Nagoya University in Japan. Later, he did his Ph.D. from Dhaka University.

Dr Chowdhury has published around 35 research papers in local and international journals.
