JS body report on ICB Bill, 2014 placed

The parliamentary standing committee report on The Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) Bill, 2014 was placed in Jatiya Sangsad Monday with a proposal to pass the bill in an amended form, reports BSS.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Finance Md. Abdur Razzaque placed the report in the House.
Earlier, Finance Minister AMA Muhith introduced the bill in the House on September 1 with a proposal to set up a corporation to be named as ICB.
According to the bill, the corporation would be considered as a banking company after having license under the Bank Company Act.
The bill proposed for making specific rules on setting up its head office and branch offices, formation of board of directors and executive committee, appointment of managing director and directors, eligibility of shareholders and conducting audit.
