LafargeHolcim holds seminar with BPSEA

LafargeHolcim Bangla-desh Limited (LHBL) has recently organised a seminar titled "Determination & Challenges of Pile Capacity in Liquefiable Soil" in association with Bangladesh Professional Structural Engineer Association (BPSEA) at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology's (BUET) Graduates Club at Banani in Dhaka. Renowned structural engineers of the country participated in the seminar.

The seminar was designed to present the solutions for issues caused by liquefiable soil, says a press release.

Dr Jahangir Alam, former professor of BUET, was present as the keynote speaker in the seminar.

He emphasised on the requirements of necessary changes in structural design for liquefiable soil.

The keynote speech was followed by a panel discussion featuring Dr Abdul Latif Helaly, Chief Engineer of RAJUK, Dr Fakhrul Amin, former Professor of BUET, Lt Col Khondaker Shakil Ahmed, Professor of MIST, Mainul Islam, former Professor of BUET, and Abdullah Al Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of Inter Space Limited. They shared their experiences and discussed the way forward on the issue.

Fakhuddin Mohammad Khan, Head of Technical Services of LHBL, shared LHBL's vision for sustainable the sustainable construction practices, along with its unique solutions and product offerings.

Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque, Logistics & Procurement Director; Abdul Matin, Head of Health, Safety & Environment; Md Anwar Hossain, RSM, Dhaka and Farjana Ehsan, DGM - Business Development were also present on the occasion.
