Latif Hasan joins UCB as DMD

M. Latif Hasan joined United Commercial Bank (UCB) as deputy managing director (DMD) and head of structured corporate, according to a press release.

Prior to joining UCB, Mr. Hasan served as head of corporate banking at Habib Bank (HBL), Bangladesh. With over three decades of extensive experience in the banking industry, he brings expertise and strategic insight expected to further strengthen UCB's corporate banking capabilities.

In his new role, Mr. Hasan will lead the structured corporate division, focusing on expanding specialised corporate financing solutions, deepening client relationships, and accelerating business growth through innovative, resilient, and sustainable financial strategies.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Hasan has held several senior leadership positions at both international and local banks. He previously served as deputy managing director and chief business officer at Standard Bank.

He has also worked with Citibank, N.A., Eastern Bank, and Prime Bank in key roles. His professional strengths include corporate relationship management, business development, credit and risk management, finance, and banking operations.

In addition to his executive roles, Mr. Hasan contributed as a member of the Basel-II Core Implementation Team and the Tax Reform Committee, reflecting his involvement in important regulatory and policy-level initiatives. He is a credit skill assessment (CSA) certified professional from Omega Performance, USA.
