Liakat Ali new vice chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank

Liakat Ali Chowdhury has been elected as the vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC.
He was unanimously elected at the 464th (emergency) meeting of the Board of Directors on Thursday, says a press statement.
Mr Chowdhury is a distinguished industrialist in Bangladesh's ship-breaking sector and a well-known business leader.
He currently serves as the Managing Partner of Asadi Steel Enterprise and Jamuna Ship Breakers (Ship Recycling Industry); Managing Director of Bangladesh Ship Breaking Limited and L&M Builders (Pvt.) Limited; Director of the Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Proprietor of Regal Oxygen; and Founding Member of Southern University.
He is also a Member of the Advisory Council of the Bangladesh Ship Breakers and Recyclers Association.
Beyond his business engagements, Mr Chowdhury is actively involved with numerous national and international business, social and professional organisations.
